What are your favorite Fall activities?

Now that the phenomenally high volume of veggies from our garden has begun to subside, I'm excitedly anticipating the next big event on my social calendar: Music in the Meadows at Animal Place, our local animal sanctuary!

This compassionate barnyard bash promises to include music and dancing, a farm tour and education from 1-5pm on Saturday, October 8th. I'll be demonstrating my Tuna(less) Salad recipe from my "Veganize It!" column in VegNews and will be selling our famous brownies and other goodies. I'm especially thrilled that Colleen Patrick-Goudreau of Compassionate Cooks will be giving a talk titled "From Excuse-itarian to Vegetarian: Addressing the Blocks and Debunking the Myths that Keep People from Making Changes." I hope to sneak away from my responsibilities for a few minutes to hear her always-inspiring words!

Other draws of the day include petting the pigs and Howie the cow, feeding the rabbits and meeting adorable calves, Douglas and Linus. Tickets will be $25/person until Friday (hurry!) and $35/person at the door. Entry includes a delectable vegan lunch. I hope to meet you there!
