At Allison’s Gourmet, we bring you a fresh perspective on artisanal baking. Allison approaches each new decadent dessert with the curiosity of a child and the artistry of a master.
Why wheat-free baked goods?
I have several food sensitivities and wheat and gluten allergies are becoming more and more of a concern for many of us who are health-conscious. For many years I have used wheat-free flours at home and worked on creating items that would ship well and were perfect enough for Allison's Gourmet. Several months ago I renewed my efforts and began working in earnest with various alternative flours in my quest for the ultimate wheat-free brownies and cookies. As always, my guiding principles were that all Allison's Gourmet goodies must be vegan, organic, and have premium taste and texture, while using the least-processed ingredients to achieve these mandatory qualities. I decided upon organic oat flour because it tastes delicious and has a beautiful texture for baked goods.
